This low-carb simple syrup is the mixer we reach for whenever a Perfy cocktail needs a little extra sweetness, and it takes about 5 minutes on the stove. The key to making exciting flavorful beverages.
Use it with: any Perfy flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1⅓ cups granular Allulose*
How to Make Low-Carb Simple Syrup
- Add the water and Allulose to a medium pot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer, stirring frequently, for 5-7 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- *Monk fruit with erythritol doesn’t dissolve well, so it’s important to use Allulose for this recipe.
- Make flavored varieties by infusing various herbs and spices such as a handful of basil, mint, 1 knob of sliced fresh ginger or 1 sliced jalapeno and then straining when done simmering. You can also try sweet varieties by adding 2 scraped vanilla beans, 1 cup of blueberries or raspberries. This infuses the flavors to make exciting beverages.
Tips & Variations
- Make it flavored: simmer with a handful of basil, mint, sliced ginger or jalapeño and strain when done.
- Store it in a sealed jar in the fridge; it keeps for about two weeks. If it crystallizes, warm it gently and stir.
- Use it in any Perfy cocktail that calls for liquid sweetener, like the Rum Sour or Passionfruit Paloma.
